Charlotte Nichols is able to offer specialist Physiotherapy assessments and treatments, Acupuncture, Clinical Pilates individual postural assessments or classes and EquiPilates™ biomechanic assessment and treatments.
Charlotte works with you, your GP/consultant, if necessary, to co-ordinate treatment. For those waiting for an NHS appointment she can usually offer a private appointment within 5 days. With your permission we would liase with your NHS physio to give you continuity of care: otherwise you may choose to continue with private care.
Charlotte graduated from University of East Anglia (UEA) in 2006 with a First Class Honours in Physiotherapy. She started her career as a Physiotherapist in London before returning to her home in the South West, developing her practice in the NHS.
She has worked extensively within the NHS, gaining invaluable experience with Orthopaedics, Neurology, Cardio Respiratory, Intensive Care and Medical patients before specialising in Musculoskeletal Outpatients. She has worked as a Senior Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist since 2009. She has developed her practice through this time by working in a range of private practices along side her NHS work since graduating.
Charlotte is constantly developing her practice skills and is highly skilled to assess and treat acute and chronic patients presenting with spinal and peripheral problems.
Her interests in Pilates developed after a hockey injury where she gained a true insight in how the body subconsciously compensates after trauma or postural fault. This causes muscle imbalances and a perceptual cycle of pain.
Through training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute and her background of Physiotherapy she has developed advanced skills of assessing and correcting these postural imbalances.
Charlotte has always been passionate about horse riding. Through her career she has realised how the precision, awareness, pelvic mobility and stability needed for riding over lap with the principles of Pilates. It is through this interest, and her passion for improving the horse-rider partnership that she became an Advanced EquiPilates™ trainer.
CN Physiotherapy clinic is based in Cary Fitzpaine, Somerset but home visits are available.
